Embark on a rewarding journey to become a licensed tattoo artist in Tennessee through our comprehensive apprenticeship program. State law mandates a minimum of one year of hands-on training under the direct supervision of a licensed tattoo artist with at least three years of experience. This structured program ensures you gain the necessary skills, knowledge, and practical experience to excel in the tattoo industry.

Key Requirements:

    •    Age: Must be at least 18 years old.

    •    Supervision: Train under a Tennessee-licensed tattoo artist with a minimum of three years of experience.

    •    Duration: Complete a minimum of one year (12 months) of supervised apprenticeship.

    •    Licensing: Obtain a Tattoo Apprentice License from your local county health department before commencing training.

    •    Training: Complete an approved Bloodborne Pathogen course.    

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be eligible to apply for a full Tattoo Artist License, paving the way for a professional career in tattooing.
